Here Comes the Chakra Man

Mr_MarshallChakra-Man will take us on a journey toward greater awareness and aliveness. He is the power behind bringing mindfulness into  schools.

Chakra-Man: The Official Grounded Super Hero
The most realistically human of all super heroes and based on the character of a real-life Principal of an elementary school.

Chakra-Man came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in the drawings made with love.
For this Chakra-Man, was more than we dreamed of……

Chakra-Man, Chakra-Man, Grounded in the Master Plan.CM_Poster

Calms a kid, any size,
Mind is open, like the sky

Deep Breath!
Here comes the Chakra-Man

Is he steady?
Listen Sweet,
He’s got rooted, heavy feet.
Can he go with the flow?
Second Chakra is aglow
Hey, there
There flows the Chakra-Man

In the stress of test fright
At the sound of a chime
Like a streak of light
He arrives just in time

Chakra-Man, Chakra-Man
Grounded in the Master Plan

Chakra_Man-v2Strength and Grace
At his source
Sensitivity is Reinforced.
Breathe In! Here comes the Chakra-Man!

Attitude, Alignment, Action
Expansion before Contraction
You’ll find the Chakra-Man!

Chakra-Man, Chakra-Man  Grounded in the Master Plan.
Calms a kid, any size,
Mind is open, like the sky

Deep Breath!
Here comes the Chakra-Man.

  • Belmont Abbey College RA’s Get Grounded

IMG_8508.JPG.scaled1000The week before college life officially started at Belmont Abbey College, the Student Life department held one of its biggest and most important trainings of the year for its Resident Assistants. “RA’s” are some of the most influential student employees on campus. They represent the college in helping new students settle into resident hall life, assist in planning social events, lead discussions, report maintenance concerns, serve as a resource to campus information, lend a listening ear and comforting shoulder to cry on, perform room checks, work in the hall office and much more.

Needless to say, the RA position entails a great deal of responsibility, but these students are ready and capable of giving even more light and love back to those they serve. With all of the trainings, seminars and long check-lists to prepare the resident halls for new student orientation, the RA’s wanted one more important thing to prepare them for this celebratory new year of college. . . to get GROUNDED!

  • “Lightbulb!”…Recognizing The Importance of Honoring Your Self!

despicable_me_2Have you ever felt not worthy?  Maybe you lacked Self-love or maybe you didn’t surround yourself with goodness at the time.  Who we surround ourselves with is who we become.  If we surround ourselves with downers we begin to feel down.  If we surround ourselves with happy, joyous, and delightful people we become more happy and joyful.  If we were to eat junk food every single day we would begin to feel down and ucky.  When we eat healthier we experience delight and Self-love.  Honor Your Self!  Surround yourself with goodness.   “The first step toward awareness is being willing to look at yourself and your life without judgment or self-criticism.” (Iyanla Vanzant)  Awareness opens the heart to new possibilities.

  • Fear On The Run

Dont-FeedFound: This Fear escaped from a very Grounded 9 year old’s first chakra. Her thighs were rooted and her connection to the earth was solid. She faced her fears, and actually whispered to herself, “I have the Right to be Here.” After the Fear escaped she felt even more Grounded and Elevated and aware of where she was in space.

  • Peace On Earth Puzzle

earthday_1As Earth Day approaches this year, I am struck by what it means to truly foster Peace on this planet. I remember as a child, learning about anti-nuclear protestors who chained themselves to fences and were forcibly removed and jailed. These brave souls became my heroines and heroes in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. I was moved to tears singing Dylan’s “Blowing in the Wind” and hearing stories of civil disobedience and the message of non-violent resistance. Later in the 1990’s, when I danced barefoot on my very first Earth Day, a lump would form in my throat when I celebrated each small victory (and the Gigantic Hearts) of environmental protestors who sacrificed so much to save a single tree and worked to preserve open space for our children’s children. Peace.
