The Right to Be Here
Last week my seven year old son participated in a Grounded Quest for Elevation Yoga camp and was asked to contribute a blog post on how Grounded has changed his approach to situations….here it is…in his own words…
Grounding kids is similar to grounding outlets. If your outlet doesn’t have three prongs like this, it’s not grounded.Your child needs to have three “prongs” connected; his voice, his heart, and his feet.
If you have kids or teens, they might at times behave similarly to ungrounded electrical outlets.
Challenge yourself to make this pose more difficult, more meaningful. Make it matter. Think of Mountain Pose as your family and the other poses as your friends, teachers, pets, and strangers. Honor your family by being steady. Stay still and aware. This will build your power. This will build your LIFE FORCE.
I see it everywhere.
I hear it spoken in so many contexts.
I come across it in a multitude of publications.
Since the idea of Grounded: Yoga, Laughter, Elevation came into being and I was blessed to be a part of the ground-floor of its creation,
Can getting grounded bring me back to balanced working order, the way nature intended me to be?
Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) defines GROUNDED as
mentally and emotionally stable: admirably sensible, realistic, and unpretentious
