Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are there any specific pre-requisites to take the trainings?
A: No, we don’t have any requirements in order to take the training. We suggest you establish a yoga practice and come with an open mind, and patience for the teachings to seep.
Q: Do I have to already have a yoga certification or experience teaching yoga?
A: No, you don’t have to already be a yoga teacher.
Q: How do I choose between the Quest For Elevation and the Quest For Inner Literacy trainings?
A: Quest For Elevation dives deep into the chakras and elements and provides detailed instructions on how to teach the Grounded Kids poses. Quest For Inner Literacy deeply connects you into the curriculum of youth. You will learn how to infuse your unique yoga style and gifts into the teachings. Read about them both and feel into which resonates with you. Or take them both as many teachers do.
Q: Can I start teaching after Step 1 or Chapter 1?
A: Yes, after the first training you will have what you need to begin teaching yoga to children. We suggest practice teaching with small groups.
Q: After Step 1 or Chapter 1 what do I need to do for certification?
A: You need to take Steps 2, 3 and 4 for Quest For Elevation certification, and Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 4 for Quest For Inner Literacy certification.
Q: How quickly can I get certified if I have no experience practicing yoga or teaching children?
A: Consider why you asked this question and what it is that you are seeking. That being said, we offer both certification quests within the span of about 6 months.
Q: How long do I have to complete my training for certification?
A: We suggest trying to complete within a year so you don’t lose momentum.
Q: What Yoga Alliance credentials will I be eligible for after completing Grounded certification?
A: Our trainings each count as continuing education with Yoga Alliance. Also, our certification programs are approved by YA as a 95 hour specialty in children’s yoga (RCYT) if you have your 200 hour.
Q: If I already have a children’s yoga certification can I go straight into the Pre-Grounded/Special Needs training?
A: Yes, as long as you do not need the 95 hour certification from Grounded.
Q: When adding up the hours for all 4 steps, it only comes to 88 hours but certification is 95 hours. How do I get the other hours?
A: Only 87 face to face hours are required. The other hours are earned through independent reading and practice.
Q: I teach yoga to children and I am looking for more ideas. What can you offer me other than trainings?
A: We have several Grounded curriculums. Both Grounded in Color and Grounded in Elements offer webinars. Each of the chapters in Quest For Inner Literacy may be taken as workshops. A different curriculum is covered in each chapter.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes, we offer early bird pricing which is a discount of $50.00. Since our program delivers an enormous value for the price, we don’t offer additional discounts. We do offer a payment plan of 3 payments once a month. Go ahead and register for the training you wish to attend but skip the payment part. Then, email Bruce@groundedkids.com to request your plan. Payment plans do not qualify for the early bird discount.
Q: Are lunches or lodging provided at the training?
A: No, we do not provide any food but you are welcome to bring your own lunch and snacks. We will take a long enough lunch break for dining out and provide water and hot tea. We suggest you google nearby hotels and let us know if you’d to be on a list to possibly share a room.
Q: I really want to be a Certified Grounded Teacher but I am unable to travel and do not see any upcoming trainings in my area. What can I do?
A: Email email@example.com or call 678-362-9990 if you would like to host a training where you live. We even travel internationally!
Q:What is your cancellation policy?
A: If you are unable to attend a training we offer a refund minus $50 processing fee. If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the training, tuition is applied to another training date at any location within one year.
Q: Who do I contact if I still have questions about Grounded training?
A: Please contact Amy Haysman at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 678-362-9990
