We will be at Decatur Yoga and on location at schools to teach various populations

Monday – Friday July 10th – 14th & July 17th – 21st

This is a comprehensive training that includes all 4 steps and experiences from both of the step 2 offerings – Yoga in Schools (using our Focus In Time plans instead of United States of You) and Pre-grounded/Special Needs training.

Details of what is included:

  1. Introduction to Grounded methodology rooted in the 7 chakras and the 5 elements
  2. Gain proficiency in our 84 Grounded series poses as well as modifications and enhancements
  3. Child development (physical, mental, emotional, social) through the lens of the chakra system and how to impart this wisdom to kids and teens so it is useful in everyday life
  4. General anatomy and physiology of ages three – teen
  5. Lesson planning, theming, class structure, scope and sequencing that engages and inspires various populations
  6. Specialized mini flows and mantras to balance each chakra and practice creating ones with purpose
  7. How to teach 11 essential alignments to children with skill, clarity and creativity
  8. Teaching mindfulness, meditation and mudras to ages 3-teens
  9. Breathing techniques appropriate for kids and teens
  10. Guiding principles for conduct management based on each student’s constitution and prevailing elements
  11. Introduction to yoga for children with special needs
  12. Explore appropriate yoga lesson plans for children with Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and other special needs
  13. Skills to assess and effectively respond to the individual child and support their growth through group and personalized yoga classes
  14. Practical teaching experience with children ages 3-teens in studio and preschool through high school, including those with special needs
  15. How to best use literature, art, storytelling, music and games as elevations
  16. Fine tune observation skills, teach to what you see, and learn the art of effective manual and verbal adjustments
  17. Personalized feedback to polish your teaching practices to become an effective, dynamic teacher
  18. Understand how to bring yoga into a school and it’s impact on students, teachers, administration and the community
  19. How to teach a curriculum-based class in a physical education/health department as well as in a classroom with desks
  20. Trauma Sensitive yoga training for youth based on up to date research and experience in the field
  21. User friendly information about PTSD and Neurological changes that occur from trauma, chronic pain and recurrent stress
  22. Ethics and Introspection and conversations to inspire best practices when teaching yoga to children
  23. Discuss teaching opportunities and common scenarios including potential behavioral challenges and strategies for dealing with them
  24. Define your next steps in this work by creating an action plan for your vision
  25. We will point you in the right direction so you can get down to business making your vision come true. Some specifics include establishing a company, insurance, waivers, and promotional materials.
